A Message from the Murphy family
Banna Beach Hotel opened in June 1968 and today still remains a family business. Over the years it has evolved many times from the original wedding and function business to one of Kerry's best dance halls in the late 70s to the night club Waves night club in the 80/90s.
In 2006 the hotel/night club were replaced by 79 holiday homes and the leisure centre and renamed Banna Beach Resort. Generations of families have worked at the resort and also enjoyed the facilities over the 55 years.
Many children have learnt to swim at the centre. Gyms, like many other leisure activities, continue to change - with Pilates, Yoga, Personal Training etc. We have listened to our many members and Pay As You Go customers and hopefully you al will be very happy with our new gym. We have also listened to our many young family members and are delighted to reintroduce a new Commando Run! inflatable for our under 12s on which we hope they will have much fun.
We have introduced more membership choices which we hope will suit the modern family/working lives. We do understand that modern life has changed and we hope that these new memberships will reflect this.
As always, our reception team, headed by Elaine, is always there to listen to new ideas etc. and we more than welcome any suggestions.
As like all family businesses, local support is very important to us and we are delighted that all the local schools avail of the pool for swimming classes. We are introducing this new brochure which we feel covers many new areas with special emphasis on seniors. Health/fitness had never been more important for this sector of society. We also want to develop the social side of the centre and we will be introducing information mornings with guest speakers where you can ask specific questions and hopefully learn more about the benefits of doing some fitness etc.
Finally on behalf of all the team at Banna Leisure Club we thank you all, without your support there would be no centre.
Hello from Reception.
Reception is where your journey really starts where either myself, Caroline or Heather will be on hand to guide you through all your options, whether you want to pay as you go or take a membership, we are the girls with all the information. We will offer advice on what will work best for you and what will be most cost effective. We can go through all your options and with many years experience we will put you on the right track. We look forward to being part of your Banna journey and to the welcome chats &banter too.
We will be doing a bi-monthly newsletter and we always welcome your ideas, comments, and we are open to listen to any suggestions regarding more social events and classes etc.
