We offer a wide range of classes each week and cater for all abilities. Classes are a great way to get started, get motivated, stay motivated and give yourself choices, and here at Banna Beach Leisure we offer plenty of class choices:

You may be unsure of what some classes entail so let us assure you with a brief description of each from our trainers.

Spinning

Spinning Bike classes are a great cardiovascular exercise - improving blood flow, burning calories and increasing fitness level.  

Children's Yoga

These classes are much more than just doing yoga poses! We explore movement, yoga games, breathing techniques, mindfulness exercises and how to relax. To make the sessions fun, engaging and age appropriate we explore a different theme each week, for e.g; a journey to space, going on safari or a trip to the beach forthe younger age group and themes such as balancing, trust and upside down for the older age group.

The classes provide exercise in a non-competitive and non-judgemental way and some of the many benefits include;

• Improving flexibility,strength and balance,

• Learning tools for self regulation and self calming, • Reducing stress and anxiety,

• Improving sleep,

• Increasing focus and concentration

Join us on Saturday mornings.

Ages 4 to 7 years - 10am to 10.30am Ages 8 to 12 years- 10.45am to 11.30am

Kardio-Dance - with Karen

This is a fun and energetic cardio-based class with strength and conditioning elements. Pumping tunes and great moves - this will get your heart racing and set you up for the week ahead. Move and sing-along and let it all out in this class. Everything is covered in this class.

Aqua-fit

Each instructor gives a different class but overall it's with the same result - a great, all over body workout, in the water and to great music. The water is used as your resistance, while also providing less impact on joints. We have found over the years that this class also has a great social atmosphere.

Stretch it out - with Karen

An enjoyable and versatile class that awakens the body with gentle static and dynamic movements, using chairs and bands for added benefits to those muscles and joints. A very relaxing and welcoming environment.

Total Body Sculpt - with Emer

The name of the class says it all!

This class is to workout the whole body, to tone & elongate muscles without building bulk.

It will help develop core muscles & back strength along with flexibility and endurance.

Core Strength & Stretch - with Philip

A hybrid class, combining the core physical exercises of Pilates and incorporating some of the stretching poses and strengthening of yoga. Our Core Strength class is a great bridge between both disciplines and ideal for these that wish to improve the core strength whilst also improving their flexibility and range of motion.

Yoga - with Philip

Our yoga class is has its roots firmly in the Himalayan School of Yoga tradition, and is a based on Ashtanga Yoga. Using breath work (pranayama), movement (asana) and guided meditation, our yoga class is the perfect way to not only gain physical exercise, but also helps with mental balance. Join us for an hour of pure escapism, where your focus is solely on you and your mat.

Pilates with Emer

Pilates offers a number of benefits including:

• Increasing Flexibility and core strength

• Improving alignment and posture

• Building flexibility, coordination and balance

• Increasing muscular balance and strength

• Improving muscular endurance and tone

• Helping to decrease injuries and create body awareness • Improving athletic performance

• Reducing strength and back pain

Early Morning Pump

Early Morning Pump is a general get up and workout class. There is no set routine. You could be doing abs, then legs or upper body. The challenge is get yourself up and into the class and set yourself up for the

day ahead. You will not regret it.

Cardio/Weights with Mary

 

Cardio/Weights on Wednesday morning is a class of 30 mins of cardio followed by a 30 mins of weights (but not too heavy).

 

Just enough to work out your muscles which are important for the functions of our amazing bodies.
